The total price you pay for your reservation includes the cost of the trailer listing plus any applicable fees and taxes.
Trailer listing price
Unlike a many travel sites and hotels, there’s no standard daily rate for booking a trailer on Wheel Estate. Each owner chooses the amount they’d like to charge for their trailer listing—per day, or per week.
Fees
There fees you may need to pay in addition to the base price for the trailer listing, such as Wheel Estate service fees, roadside assistance, and a security deposit. Some trailer owners set policies listed below that are either included or optional for a fee.
They are:
- Cleaning fee
- Owner delivery & set-up
- Generator fee
- Propane fee
- Added value items called add-ons
The trailer owner may require a post-reservation cleaning fee that helps them keep their trailer tidy for future reservations. Look for the cleaning fee in the trailer listing’s description—it’ll appear as a one-time fee for your reservation, regardless of how many days you book.
The trailer owner also has the option to charge an owner delivery & set-up fee. Some owners appreciate the option to deliver and set-up their trailer for you and make sure everything is very comfortable for you to have a wonderful experience. This option also relieves some guests as they may not feel confident pulling a travel trailer to their destination.
The trailer owner has the option to charge a generator fee. If the guest needs to use a generator, there may be an extra fee for the use or the owner has the option to include it with the trailer rental.
There is also an option to charge a propane fee. There may be an extra fee where the guest is responsible to replace any propane used during the rental period. The other option the owner has is to fill the propane tanks prior to departure and is complimentary.
Added value items are things like bedding and cutlery. Trailer owners have total control what they include for free for for a fee.
Taxes
There are taxes that might apply to your reservation, depending on where you live and where trailer owner’s listing is located:
- Local taxes—based on the location of the owner’s trailer listing
Depending on where the trailer listing is located, there may be additional local taxes that Wheel Estate collects and remits to local governments. Owners with trailer listings in locations where Wheel Estate does not help collect local taxes may still have tax obligations. In those cases, owners are responsible for letting you know about those additional taxes before you book, and collecting the tax themselves by including it in their listing price.
